Future Laser Screwdriver draft by Asaph Future Laser Screwdriver draft by Asaph
Silly venture. I intend to make a future Laser at some point (after I make a Saxon Laser, prolly..).
This was the initial idea. I only like part A, symbolizing the seven systems of Gallifrey and the number 7.
Also, it's a blade:P

Indeed! The avatar brings many privileges. Metal would be difficult.

Four. Ah indeed. The "AX4" thing then. I gets it now. If it was a really big felt tip then maybe... I probably have the right tools but I'm not too good with metal. I'm scared of a soldering iron. I've burnt myself a lot on it.

But... this is still possible. I think. Maybe not with metal and most likely without the laser. Of course you could use a laser pointer instead of a laser and just attach a sort of button mechanism. Or at least a mini torch light. Then all you'd really need do is create the prongs and stick it all together. A shiny stone of some sort for the flawed amethist (it might not necessarily be real or orange) could be lit up and Bam! You have yourself a <replica> laser.

It would be fun to make! The proportions don't really have to change much. Possibly a larger barrel for the electronics/laser/light. That would put the prongs (Part A) into better proportion and make it much easier to make if you make your own circuit.

It can be done. I think.

No actually I think maybe the stone is crass, I just put it into the design cause I had it, haha.
I think it'd be cooler if the beam roamed free between the prongs (besides, prongs+stone=non efficient blades:P)

Maybe I'd make a monster shaft out of bolts and scrap metal (kiinda like the Saxon Laser but much worse).

Sounds like a great plan! Sorry for the VERY delayed reply, my studies got the better of me and had me duct-taped to my computer.

Argh, the distractions of life. :P

And yes thank you, I have only a few minor things to do. :)

You never know when you'll need a home made laser. This plan is most ingenious. Hell I'm tempted to make it just to prove that this is an awesome plan. As I said, without the laser bit. I can't really get hold of flawed amethist and a large proportion of the "AX4" thingie. But I can make a circuit with an LED.

I'm glad to comment! It is a brilliant plan!

Since I'm all elite and such (the avatar makes me privileged :P ) I'd like to make it form metal,
but I lack the proper tools and, well, metal:P (and a furnace and a blacksmith and, oh so many)
I also want to make a Saxon laser but that's another matter.
Mine is simpler but tricky cause of the tool absence.

Yeah the proportions are a bit tricky,
the A is too nice to make it small but, then again,
you must cause it's.. kinda difficult when you have 4 of them.

What an amazing plan! I think this would be fun to make! Possibly with an LED circuit if lasers aren't available.

Very inspiring! I really don't know why you don't like it. It's fun, even if silly. I do love the part A also.

Part A, I'm proud of, actually, haha.
The problem is the rest. Maybe I'm too hard on me, this is the first and only draft so far, after all :)

Thanks SO much for commenting:)

"Also, it's a blade:p" <- No shit. Part A's my fave too, especially because of the symbolism. The screwdriver as a whole actually makes me think of a grapple hook, which probably isn't what you were going for. Or was it? The sharp edges on the spikes look deadly enough on themselves. Also, be careful with the flawed amethist. :) (my impuslive youth might nick it)

4 blades better than one:P

Well it was kind of intended to look like a grapple hook,
but I need to adjust the dimensions, they blades need not be THAT big.
(But I'm proud of their design:P)
I kind of liked the amethyst in the first place but I'm impulsive too now and then,
so I dont think I like it now.
You can have it :P
